Alpine skiing: Shiffrin wins 10th straight World Cup slalom

KILLINGTON: Reigning Olympic champion Mikaela Shiffrin captured her 10th straight slalom by winning the World Cup race on Sunday in Killington, Vermont.

The 21-year-old American clocked a combined time of one minute, 27.95 seconds to finish 0.73 seconds ahead of runner-up Veronika Velez Zuzulova of Slovakia. Swiss Wendy Holdener was third in 1:28.81.

Shiffrin has now won the last 10 World Cup slaloms she has competed in dating back to 2015. In that time she has also won a world championship.
