CM reviews proposals for disaster insurance scheme

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday presided over a meeting which reviewed preliminary proposals for disaster insurance scheme to cope with the losses due to natural calamities especially floods.

Addressing the meeting, Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the idea of disaster insurance scheme and directed that Cabinet Committee should review proposals in this regard and submit comprehensive recommendations.

DG PDMA gave a briefing on disaster insurance scheme. Provincial Minister Malik Nadeem Kamran, Secretary Communication & Works, Secretary Agriculture, Secretary Livestock and concerned officials attended the meeting while Chairman Planning & Development from Lahore and Senior Member Board of Revenue participated in the meeting through video link from Sargodha.
