First death anniversary of Jamiluddin Aali on Wednesday

KARACHI: The first death anniversary of renowned poet and columnist, Jamiluddin Aali will be observed on Wednesday.

He was born in Delhi, India on January 1925. Aali earned a BA Economics Degree from Anglo Arabic College. He passed CSS examination in 1951, and joined Pakistan Taxation Service. Aali wrote many books and many patriotic songs.

Aali married Tayyaba Bano in 1944 and had 5 children. Jamiluddin Aali won Pride of Performance award in 1991 and Hilal-e-Imtiaz in 2004.

He passed away in the age of 90 years, due to cardiac arrest on November 23, 2015. On his first death anniversary Anjuman Taraqi e Urdu Pakistan has arranged a Fateha Khuwani on his grave which will be attended by prominent writers, intellectuals and others.
