Hong Kong stocks up by break

HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks ended the morning on a high Monday, reversing early losses as bargain-buyers moved in after last week's sell-off.

The Hang Seng index added 0.26 percent, or 57.46 points, to 22401.67 by the break.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.86 percent, or 27.41 points, to 3,220.27, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, added 0.31 percent, or 6.63 points, to 2,117.91.
