According to the plan, there will be complete ban on parking of any vehicles and handcarts on the route of procession.
City Traffic Officer (CTO) Yousaf Ali Shahid while issuing the traffic plan said traffic wardens and senior traffic wardens under the supervision of Inspectors and DSPs would perform their duties in the district on the Chelum.
The CTO said traffic wardens had been directed to especially check the vehicles and motorcycles carrying suspicious persons, without number plate or proper number plate vehicles, tinted glass vehicles and vehicles moving in the city with revolving light.
Emergency squads would also be appointed to maintain the flow of traffic in the city, he added.
The CTO further directed the officials to ensure parking of all vehicles at the minimum distance of 200 meters from the route of the mourning processions and Imam Bargahs.
He said the wardens had been directed to remove all kind of encroachments from the routes of the processions besides keeping a vigil on suspected persons and things. Strict disciplinary action will be taken against the delinquent officials, the CTO added.
Yousaf informed that traffic would be provided alternate routes during the mourning processions and diversions would be available at various points for the motorists.
The citizens can call at City Traffic Police Helpline 1915 to know about the traffic situation on the roads. An emergency control room will also be established to cope with any emergency.
