MIAMI: Anthony Davis turned in another dazzling individual display to guide New Orleans to only their third victory of the season with a 113-101 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday.

Davis, who has been averaging just over 30 points per game for the Pelicans this season, weighed in with 38 more as New Orleans improved to 3-10.

The 23-year-old had missed Thursday's defeat at Orlando because of a bruised quad muscle linked well with Jrue Holiday, making his season debut, to outlast the Blazers.

Holiday had missed the first 12 games of the campaign to be with his wife, Lauren, who gave birth to the couple's first child and underwent brain surgery.

However the 26-year-old showed no sign of rustiness as he emerged from the bench to score 21 points.

Terrence Jones added 15 points, while Tim Frazier and E'Twaun Moore both made double digits, 12 and 11 respectively.

For Portland, Damian Lillard once again shone with 27 points while C.J. McCollum added 24 and Mason Plumlee 13.

The defeat saw the Blazers fall to 7-7. Portland now travel to Brooklyn on Sunday for the latest leg of their five-game road trip.

New Orleans, meanwhile, have a quick turnaround, hosting Charlotte on Saturday night.
