HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks ended the morning session lower in volatile trade fuelled by uncertainty over the outlook for the world economy under a Donald Trump presidency.

The Hang Seng index eased 0.12 percent, or 27.19 points, to 22,253.34 by the break.

And the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.31 percent, or 9.80 points, to 3,195.26 while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, slipped 0.56 percent, or 11.92 points, to 2,112.93.
