LAHORE: Cotton growers must spread the cotton pod in sunlight after completion of the last cotton picking so that more cotton can be acheived.

A spokesman of the Punjab agriculture department said on Wednesday that growers must leave the sheep and goats in the cotton field after completing last picking of cotton as they would eat the left over pods and this would also help in destroying the larva of pinkworm.

He further said that the dung of sheep and goats help in increasing the organic content of the land and this ultimatelly leads to the less use of chemical fertilizers besides reducing the per acre production expenses of the famrers.
