LONDON: UniCredit has appointed Christian Reusch as head of global syndicate and capital markets, one of several senior changes in its investment bank. The promotion will leave Tim Hoffmeister as head of global syndicate. Reusch and Hoffmeister had been co-heads of global syndicate.

The Italian bank also said Marco Bales, who was previously head of global syndicate and capital markets, had been appointed head of markets in Germany.

He takes over the role from Tong Lee who continues as head of rates. Luca Falco, previously co-head of debt origination, has been appointed deputy head of global syndicate and capital markets.

Clemens Popp, previously co-head of debt origination, has been appointed head of debt origination. UniCredit said the moves were part of its succession planning within its corporate and investment bank.

The global syndicate and capital markets arm includes syndicate, debt origination, rating advisory and equity capital markets. The appointments are effective immediately.

Reusch, who joined UniCredit in 1995, will report to Richard Burton and Andreas Mayer, co-heads of global financing and advisory. Bales reports to Guy Laffineur, head of markets.
