Hong Kong stocks end higher on Trump hopes

HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks rallied Thursday, rebounding from the previous day's plunge, on hopes Donald Trump will implement economy boosting measures after his shock triumph in the US presidential election.

The Hang Seng Index rose 1.89 percent, or 423.92 points, to end at 22,839.11.

And the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index climbed 1.37 percent or 42.91 points, to 3,171.28 while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, gained 1.37 percent, or 28.42 points, to 2,096.89.
