Pakistan called upon India on Monday to respond positively so that visible progress could be achieved in the current round of talks.
At her weekly press briefing Foreign Office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam said that Pakistan has shown flexibility, sincerity and courage to resolve the Kashmir issue in a forthright manner acceptable to all stakeholders, particularly the people of Kashmir.
Responding to various questions, she said that though progress of peace talks between Pakistan and India had not been according to our expectations, yet it would be incorrect to say that there was no progress, and hoped that the process would move forward in the current third-round of talks.
With regard to setting of visa camp in Karachi and Mumbai, Tasnim Aslam said that the two countries had agreed to open consulates in these cities simultaneously.
She said that Pakistan had paid Rs 20 million in advance for a property to open the Consulate General in Mumbai at the earliest, but has not got its possession so far. "However, we are still in search of a proper place for such purpose," she added.
The FO spokesperson said Bangladesh Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia would pay a three-day official visit to Islamabad from February 12 and hold wide-ranging talks with Pakistani leaders to further strengthen bilateral relations.
To another question, Tasnim said that Pakistan has its own special relationship with Saudi Arabia which are deep rooted in history and religion and there was good understanding between the two brotherly countries as Pakistan imports major chunk of petroleum products from the kingdom.
About Iran issue, she said that International Atomic Energy Agency has decided to send its report to the Security Council but Pakistan expects an amicable and diplomatic solution to this problem, as under the NPT Iran has certain obligations and rights.
The FO spokesperson said Pakistan condemns in very strong words the publication of blasphemous caricatures and cannot condone it in any way.
