Prominent singer Pervez Mehdi died in Lahore on Monday due to cardiac arrest. He was 58. He sang hundreds of songs for films, radio and TV. The deceased was one of the students of legend singer Mehdi Hassan. This year, he was selected for awarding presidential award for distinction, acknowledging his services rendered for promotion of the art, PTV reported.
