A Rs 7,64,968 surplus budget of the Gadap town council for the year 2005-06 was presented by Nazim Gadap Town Ghulam Murtaza Baloch on June 16. According to details available here, the budget was presented at the town council meeting, presided over by Town Naib Nazim Abdul Sattar Jokhio. The budget proposals will be passed after simple debates by the council.
In the budget Rs 35,45,00,000 has been shown as development expenditure. The schemes include dams, bridges, causeways-weir, roads, streets, water supply, sewerage and drainage, parks, etc.
Capital expenditure amounts to Rs 1,00,00,000/- and revenue expenditure, Rs 22,31,48,032. Revenue income from rate and taxes has been shown at Rs 25,45,00,000/- and from fees Rs 1,56,65,000/-. In the capital income, arrears of rural and urban octroi tax from 2001-02 upto 2004-05 (Sindh government and City District Government, Karachi) stood at Rs 32,77,48,000/-.
Revenue income and capital income totalled Rs 59,79,13,000/- and revenue expenditure, capital expenditure and development expenditure amounted to Rs 59,71,48,032/- showing a budget surplus of Rs 7,64,968/-.
