KARACHI: As many as six pole mounted transformers (PMTs) have been installed and energized in the metropolis.

This was announced by the spokesperson of the K-Electric on Saturday.

He said that K-Electric has installed and energized six PMTs and other necessary electricity infrastructure at Chishti Nagar in Gulistan-e-Jauher.

The Provincial Minister for Social Welfare, Shamim Mumtaz, inaugurated the project in the presence of KE team and other dignitaries.

It was pointed out that Chishti Nagar was previously infested with illegal wiring and theft, also causing faults and tripping in adjoining areas.

This project will enable the provision of reliable power supply to the residents of Chishti Nagar through over 800 new electricity connections.

According to KE spokesperson the new system installed at Chishti Nagar will enable the utility to provide electricity to 800 new households and also enhance load management in surrounding areas.

He also thanked the Sindh government for their collaboration and support.
