Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Kamran Lashari has proposed two sites near Fateh Jang and Kahuta Tehsils to develop new industrial estate for the federal capital, Business Recorder learnt on Thursday. CDA Chairman gave this proposal to the businessmen community of Islamabad during a meeting held here on Wednesday.
Sources said Islamabad's industrialists had insisted for the allotment of land near proposed Fateh Jang Airport at Motorway link road. CDA will provide over 600 to 800 acres of land for the new industrial estate, source said adding businessmen however, had agreed that 400 to 500 acres would be enough for the purpose.
Earlier, the CDA had offered a rugged terrain near Sangjani where the establishment of industrial zone was not possible.
The new site would serve for 20 to 30 years to cater the requirements of Islamabad's business community.
Chairman asked them to undertake the pilot project on BoT basis.
Sources said the deal would be finalised during the Lashari's visit of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) on December 7.
