An accountability court on Tuesday convicted former federal minister Haji Muhammad Nawaz Khokhar for three-year imprisonment with a fine of Rs 1.8 million.
The court also declared him disqualified for next 10 years from being member of the parliament. The accused has been facing the charges of evading revenue in purchase of a piece of land in Islamabad.
The court, however, acquitted five government revenue officials including Farrukh Nadeem, Muhammad Fiaz, Ghulam Muhammad, Bashir and Rehmat.
