Thirty five people were burnt alive and five others seriously injured when a bus and an oil tanker crashed in western Burkina Faso, police said on Thursday.
The accident occurred on Tuesday in the Niangoloko region, near the border with Ivory Coast, the police told AFP.
They quoted survivors as saying the two vehicles had burst into flames when the bus ran into the loaded oil tanker at a crossroads.
The two drivers and 33 of the bus passengers, who included many women and children, were trapped inside the vehicles and were burnt alive. Two months ago two dozen people were crushed to death when the bus in which they were travelling overturned in the same area.
