According to the brief on daily power generation and load-management,the hydel generation stood at 4,953 MW, WAPDA thermal 1,311 MW, IPPs 5,220 MW and Renal 107 MW. As many as 740 MW was supplied to Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC), the report added. Both the hydel and IPPs generation has significantly reduced due to less water discharge from Tarbela and Mangla dams and short of fuel supply to the power plants. Some of small IPPs have been shut down due to shortage of fuel supply. The Tarbela and Mangla dams had already attained their maximum conservation level of 1550 feet and 1210 feet respectively.
