ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid Sunday said that Victory of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N)'s candidate Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in NA-122 proved that general election 2013 were also held in free, fair and transparent manners.

Talking to a news channel, the minister said Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan had wasted two and a half years of the nation with politics of blames and baseless allegations of rigging.

He said if there was any reality in allegations of PTI then the results of the by-elections would not be same.

Pervaiz Rashid said PML-N government was focusing on the real challenges being faced by the country and that would be the real moment to celebrate when these challenges would be overcome rather than to be happy by defeating any political party.

He said that Imran Khan's politics of allegations neither benefitted the country nor his politics but only wasted the precious time of the country.

According to PTI chief there were 50 thousand bogus votes in NA-122, general elections, while some were casted through extra ballet papers published from Urdu Bazar and he also alleged Najam Sethi, former Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry and Returning Officers for being involved in rigging against him, the minister said and added that if all these factors were counted then Ayaz Sadiq would obtained the votes which PTI candidate Ashraf Sohna has got in NA-147, Okara.

He said PTI just got 7000 votes from Okara despite Imran Khan himself led the election campaign and addressed public gatherings in the constituency while not a single person of PML-N's central leadership went there for election campaign.

The minister rejected the allegations levelled by PTI's leader Chaudhry Sarwar that the entire federal cabinet was participating the election campaign in Lahore.
