"Since April 2010, the turning point after the crisis, 120,000 permanent jobs have been created in our industry. And by the end of the year, another 60,000-80,000 more should be added," Gesamtmetall president Martin Kannegiesser said in an interview for Monday's edition of the newspaper Tagesspiegel.
German unemployment stands at its lowest level since reunification in 1990, and the country's engineering firms have benefited from strong demand in emerging economies.
