Two terrorists executed at Multan jail

MULTAN: Two convicted terrorists were hanged till death at the New Central Jail Multan early morning on Wednesday.

Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) No 1 Multan issued death warrants of convict Ghulam Shabbir after rejection of his appeals by the superior courts and the mercy petition by the President on Jan 2, 2015.

Meanwhile Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) No 2 had issued black warrants against Ahmad Ali alias Sheesh Nag on Saturday and set execution date January 7.

Ghulam Shabbir was sentenced to death for killing two persons--DSP Anwar Khan and Ghulam Murtaza in 1998 in Multan city.

Accused Ahmad Ali had killed three persons,besides injuring two others at an iron shop at Railway road in Multan on April 7,1998.

Those killed included shop owner Altaf Hussain, Nasir and Fayyaz,while Siddiq and another person suffered injuries.

ATC Multan had awarded him death sentence on four counts.

Sources said troops had been deployed at the new central jail in line with security arrangements for executions at the prison.
