Three ANP workers among five gunned down in Orangi

KARACHI: Five men including three Awami National Party (ANP) workers was gunned down by unknown snipers in Orangi Town on Thursday evening, police and rescue sources said.

They said that armed men riding a motorcycle opened indiscriminate firing on the car of one Dr. Israr in MPR Colony, limits of Orangi police station; as a result Dr. Israr and four others traveling in the car died.

The bodies were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico legal formalities.

According to Edhi sources, the victims included Dr. Israr, 40, Razim Ullah, 40, Jamsheed Khan, 30, Iqbal Hussain, 37, and Sajjad, 12.

ANP spokesman Abdul Malik said in a statement that Dr Israr, Razim Ullah and Jamsheed were his party workers and belonged to ANP MPR Colony ward, while other victims were their guests who had come from Sawat.
