DAMASCUS: UN-Arab League peace envoy Lakhdar Brahimi will meet Syria's President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus on Wednesday morning, a diplomatic source told AFP.

It will be the first meeting between the pair since Brahimi's last visit to war-torn Syria in December last year.
