KARACHI: The necessity for the candidates privately registered for degree and post degree level courses to be serious towards their studies, was reflected through results announced by Karachi University's examination department for MA external examination 2012.

According to a Karachi University announcement on Saturday,

13.9% was the pass percentage of results announced for MA in Mathematic (external examination). For Sindhi it came to 19.23%, Islamic History 26.27% and Philosophy 56.25 percent.

Adeela Shah bagged fist position in the M.A. Philosophy (Final) External Examination 2012, securing 679 marks out of a total of 1000 with S.P. Aurangzaib clinching second position (554/1000) and Rehana Yasmeen third position with 535 out of 1000.

Sixteen external candidates had been registered for the MA Philosophy programme and all of them had appeared in the examination with two placed in first division, seven in second division and none in third division, bringing aggregate pass percentage to 56.25%.

The pass percentage for MA (External) examination 2012 for Sindhi was announced to be 19.23% with Abdul Rasheed securing first position with 702 out of 1000 marks and Asmat Bano clinching second position (681/1000).

A total of 26 candidates had appeared in MA Sindhi examination for external candidates, arranged by KU, with three securing first division, two second and 21 declared fail.

As for MA final (External) Examination 2012 of Islamic History 222 candidates were registered, 217 appeared while only 57 could pass the exam with pass percentage of 26.27%. None could secure first division, 56 of the candidates qualified it in second division and one in third division, with no first divisioner.

The position holders included Hafsa Rahim Farooqui clinching first position with 558 out of 1000 marks, Nuzhat Noushin grabbed second position with 555/1000 and Sobia Furqan third position with 537/1000.

Twenty nine candidates had registered themselves for MA Mathematics as external candidates. All 29 appeared for it, however, only four could qualify with one securing first division, three second and none third division, 25 were declared failed bringing pass percentage to 13.79%.
