Moderate earthquake jolts Federal Capital

ISLAMABAD: A moderate intensity earthquake on Wednesday jolted Federal Capital and many areas of the country.

According to a Met Office official‚ the tremors of eartquake‚ which was of 5.7 magnitude on Richter scale‚ were felt in Abbottabad‚ Rawalpindi‚ Islamabad‚ Sailkot‚ Murree‚ Hazara‚ Gujrawal‚ Sailkot‚ Lahore‚ Jehlum and other areas at 11.57 am.

The epicentre of the earthquake was 80 kilometer east from Jammu in Indian occupied Kashmir and 10 kilometer in depth. Jolts were also felt in many areas of India‚ including Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

No loss of life is reported.
