LAHORE: Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khan Khosa here on Wednesday conferred upon the President's awards (Pakistan Civil Awards) to 48 persons for their outstanding services in the field of agriculture, science, engineering, medical, art, sports, literature, social services, law and order, music, nuclear technology and journalism. These awards included 10 awards of Sitara-i-Imtiaz, 19 each of Pride of Performance and Tamgha-i-Imtiaz. The award distribution ceremony held at Governor House was largely attended by parliamentarians, officers of various departments, PPPP office-bearers and the families of the award winners. Those who received Sitara-i-Imtiaz were: Dr. Qamar Zaman Chaudhry Advisor Climate Affairs, Prof. Dr. Tasawar Hayat from QAU Mathematics Department, Meritorious Prof. Dr. Mrs. Asghari Maqsood, Prof. Dr. Shaukat Mahmood Maxim, Asimul Haq Qureshi, Dr. Zaffar Iqbal, Mrs. Parveen Tawwab Founder and Honorary Director of Rising Sun Institute for Special Children, Dr. Rizwan Naseer DG Rescue-1122, Iftikhar Ahmed for his grandfather Maulana Hafiz-ur-Rehman (Late) and Mian Muhammad Hanif Chairman Madina Group of Industries.
