KARACHI: Inspector General Police Sindh Fayaz Ahmed Laghari has directed police department to ensure concrete security measures during whole Ramazan, particularly the eve of the twenty-seventh Ramadan, Juma-tul-Wida Youm-ul-Quds and also Eid-ul-Fitr in order to protect lives and property of public.
He said in most of the mosques Khatm-e-Quran congregations will be held during the last week of Ramazan particularly the 27th night of Ramadan, so foolproof arrangements for these event must be ensured. IG ordered to take sound security steps for rallies and protest processions of Youm-ul-Quds which will be held on Juma-tul-Wida. Routes of the rallies should be swept and cleared by Bomb Disposal Squad, he instructed.
He said that as the Eid-ul-Fitr comes nearer a huge number of people head toward markets.
In this regard to maintain the security of shopping centers police officials should be deployed on significant points and motorcycle patrolling enhanced.
He ordered advance intelligence gathering, rekey and mobilization of plainclothes to curb criminal activities through targeted actions.
He said snap checking, picketing and patrolling should be carried out in the presence of SHOs.
