ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration will establish four Sasta bazaars and 35 fair price shops in the city for provision of food items to consumer at cheaper rates.
Four Sasta bazaars will be set up at G-7, Koral, Rawat and Bharaku in Islamabad during the month of Ramadan where the commodities would be sold at prices lower than those of other weekly bazaars.
Four mobile utility stores service would also be established in these sasta bazaars, the official sources said.
Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Amer Ali Ahmed has also reviewed the arrangements and preparations of related departments for providing food items at the cheaper rates to the consumers during the upcoming month of Ramadan.
The sources said 35 fair price shops are being established where flour, Ghee, sugar, basin and pulses would be sold to the people at ex-mill rates.
Assistant Director Food has been directed to ensure the quality of food items at these fair shops and sasta bazaars.
Meanwhile, 14 price checking teams comprising of Assistant Commissioners, Magistrates and Special Magistrates have been constituted to conduct price checking during Ramadan.
These teams have been directed to ensure price control, quality of food items.
A complaint cell is also being established in the office of ADC (G) Islamabad with telephone No. 9261504 to take prompt action on consumers complaints and redress their grievances on the spot.
This cell would be supervised by the ADC (G) Islamabad and it will maintain record of complaints and ensure their disposal properly.
