Taking advantage of the session convened on the requisition of the opposition Punjab government on Monday successfully passed The Code of Criminal Procedure (Punjab Amendment Bill) 2020 and The Punjab Village Panchayats and Neighbourhood Councils (Amendment) Bill 2020 with majority.

The session started one hour seventeen minutes late under the chair of Mian Muhammad Shafee. Earlier on Friday Law minister Punjab Raja Basharat presented seven ordinances in the House which includes The Punjab Infectious Diseases (Prevention and Control) Ordinance 2020, The Punjab Local Government (Amendment) Ordinance 2020, The Punjab Village Panchayats and Neighbourhood Councils (Amendment) Ordinance 2020, The Stamp (Amendment) Ordinance 2020, The Punjab Prevention of Hoarding Ordinance 2020, The Punjab Private Educational Institutions (Promotion and Regulation) (Amendment) Ordinance 2020 and The Code of Civil Procedure (Punjab Amendment) Ordinance 2020. The speaker referred all the ordinances to standing committees.

While criticising his own government the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MPA Nazeer Chohan said that some elements were misguiding Prime Minister Imran Khan on the sensitive issue of Khatme Nabuwat (PBUH). He demanded that the government should constitute a committee to highlight those people who want to create unrest in the country by raising the issue of induction of Ahmadi's in the minority commission.

Another ally of PTI government in Punjab Maulana Muavia Azam Tariq said that no compromise will be made on Khatme Nabuwat.

He demanded that the government which claims that it will make Pakistan Riyasat-i-Madina should announce interest free budget of 2020-2021.

PTI MPA Ahmad Shah Khaga said that government should bring legislation regarding opening of shops from Fajar prayers to time of Maghrib prayers. He said that there should be legislation regarding adopting austerity measures on marriages.

PML-N MPA Sardar Awais Laghari criticised government for not evolving a consensus on corona. He said that government badly failed in formulating a national policy on corona with consensus.

Health Minister Punjab Dr Yasmeen Rashid said that promotions were not given to doctors for seven years in Punjab. She said now the government is giving promotions to doctors. She further said government is recruiting ten thousand doctors in the province so that there should be no shortage of doctors in the province.

Speaking on the point of order former education minister Rana Mashood Ahmed Khan said that a parliamentary committee was constituted on the issue of Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) and Punjab Education Management Authority (PEMA).

He said that on the assurance of the government PEF and PEMA called off their sit in but four months have passed and salaries were not given to the employees of PEF and PEMA.
