HAMBURG: Jordan's state grain buyer made no purchase in an international tender for 120,000 tonnes of feed barley which closed on Tuesday, European traders said.
Only three trading houses participated in the tender: Holbud, Glencore and GTCS.
A new tender is expected to be issued closing on April 22.
"I think the general uncertainty caused by export restrictions by Romania, Russia and elsewhere made participation difficult," one trader said.
Romania has banned cereal exports to non-European Union destinations during a state of emergency until mid-May to cover its domestic needs during the new coronavirus outbreak, Interior Minister Marcel Vela said on Thursday.
