  • Vice President Mike Pence said that more US deaths were 'possible'.
  • Over 70 cases have been reported in the United States so far.

The United States has confirmed that another person infected with the coronavirus died in Seattle, Washington.

Vice President Mike Pence told CNN that more US deaths were 'possible'. On February 29, the US reported the first death from the coronavirus in the state of Washington. The patient was a man in his 50s with underlying health conditions, BBC reported.

Meanwhile, New York state has also confirmed its first positive coronavirus test. Governor Andrew Cuomo took to his Twitter handle and confirmed that a woman in her 30s contracted the virus during a recent trip to Iran and was in quarantine in her home.

"The patient has respiratory symptoms, but is not in serious condition and has been in a controlled situation since arriving in New York," Cuomo said.
