Egypt has strategic wheat reserves for 4.7 months

CAIRO: Egypt, the world's largest wheat buyer, has enough strategic reserves of the grain for 4.7 months and sugar reserves for 5.3 months, the supply minister said in remarks reported by the state news agency on Wednesday.

Egypt also aims for domestic wheat production of 4 million tonnes in the next season starting April 15, the agency quoted Ali Moselhy as saying.

Strategic reserves for vegetable oils were enough for 3.3 months, he added.
