  • "Let me reiterate that there is no role for any third party in this matter," Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said.

India has once again rejected US President Donald Trump's offer to help resolve the Kashmir dispute, saying that there is no role for any third party in the issue.

During a press briefing, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said that India's position on the Kashmir issue and third party mediation has been very clear and consistent, Indian media reported. "Let me reiterate that there is no role for any third party in this matter," he said.

The MEA spokesperson further said that if there are any bilateral issues between India and Pakistan that needs to be discussed, it should be done between the two countries under provisions of the Shimla Agreement and the Lahore Declaration.

"But the onus is on Pakistan to create such conducive conditions - free from terror, hostility and violence."

On Wednesday during his meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan, Trump said that the US was watching the developments related to occupied Kashmir 'very closely'. The US president also repeated his offer to help resolve the matter.
