Indian naval chief claims Jaish-e-Mohammad ‘training’ for underwater attacks

Indian Navy Chief Admiral Karambir Singh has claimed that terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) is training its members to carry out underwater attacks on India.

Speaking to the media on Monday, the Naval chief said that they have received intelligence that the underwater wing of JeM is being trained to carry out attacks."We are keeping a track of it and we assure you that we are fully alert," he further said.

The statement by the naval chief comes at a time when tensions between Pakistan and India are at its peak over Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK). Last week, Prime Minister Imran Khan had warned the international community that India will attempt a false flag operation to divert attention from its massive human rights violations and the unleashing of a reign of terror in IoK.

The PM was referring to Indian media reports which claimed that some terrorists from Afghanistan have entered IoK for terrorist activities.

Earlier in February, India had claimed to have struck the 'biggest training camp' of JeM in Balakot, Pakistan. India's Foreign Secretary VK Gokhale also said that a large number of JeM terrorists were killed in the attack. However, their claims had turned out to be false.
