HAMBURG: Taiwan's MFIG corn purchasing group has issued an international tender to buy up to 65,000 tonnes of corn, European traders said on Tuesday.
The tender closes on Wednesday, June 12.
The corn can be sourced from the United States, Brazil, Argentina or South Africa.
Shipment is sought between Sept. 17 and Oct. 6 if the corn is sourced from the US Gulf, Brazil or Argentina.
If sourced from the US Pacific Northwest coast or South Africa, shipment is sought between Oct. 3-21.
The tender seeks yellow corn in one consignment of between 40,000 to 65,000 tonnes.
Two South Korean groups also bought corn in tenders on Tuesday, ending a lull in Asian corn buying as Chicago corn futures pulled back from their highest in some three years in late May.
