CHICAGO: Spot basis bids for corn firmed at interior processors, elevators and ethanol plants early on Monday, grain dealers said.
The corn basis was steady to weak at river terminals.
Soybean bids were mostly steady around the region.
Farmer sales of both commodities were slow.
A dealer in Council Bluffs, Iowa, said many farmers were taking advantage of warm and dry weather to try to catch up on long-delayed planting tasks and were not interested in marketing.
