ACCRA: Ghana's graded and sealed (G&S) cocoa arrivals reached 698,553 tonnes between the start of this year's harvest on Oct. 1 and April 4, compared to 657,604 tonnes between Oct. 1 and April 12 the previous season, figures from marketing board Cocobod showed on Tuesday.
G&S is cocoa that has been quality checked and sealed in bags by Cocobod and is ready to be shipped.
Cocoa production in Ghana is expected to drop to 850,000 tonnes this season from 900,000 tonnes last season owing to bad weather conditions and swollen shoot disease.
