Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi announced on Saturday that Pakistan has decided to fence its border with Iran to strengthen the border security and prevent terrorist activities from happening.

Addressing a press conference on Saturday, the minister said he has confirmed information that the recent killings of 14 persons in Ormara was the work of BRA, an alliance of a number of Baloch terrorist organisations.

He said actionable intelligence after investigation has also been shared with Iranian authorities. He further said that on the basis of verified information, the training and logistical camps of this new alliance were based inside Iran's borders.

The foreign minister continued that he spoke to his Iranian counterpart Javad Zarif to raise the issue. Qureshi added that he had conveyed the anger and sorrow of Pakistanis to him and their expectations from Iran.

Qureshi further said that Zarif has condemned the attack and said this attack was not only threatening for Pakistan but also for Iran. Zarif reassured Qureshi that they would act on the information provided by Islamabad.

Speaking about the border which Pakistan has decided to fence with Iran, Qureshi shared steps that have already been taken to ensure its stability. He said that a new command has been formed which will be headquartered in Turbat. Qureshi further said that this command has been formed for vigilance and prompt action.

Qureshi further shared that Heli-surveillance will also be done between the Pakistan and Iran to prevent further incidents.
