Hazara community continues protest, demands authorities to provide them security

Following the blast in Quetta on Friday which killed at least 20 people, the city's Hazara community's protest entered its second day demanding the authorities to provide them security in Balochistan and across Pakistan.

Men along with women and children are protesting against the attack since Friday on Western by-pass, demanding that action be taken against the perpetrators. They demand that the government ensure protection of the Hazara community and implement an effective security plan.

At least 20 people were killed and 48 were injured on Friday when a powerful suicide blast occurred at a vegetable market. Provincial police chief Mohsin Butt said eight Hazara were among the victims. A faction of the Pakistani Taliban claimed the attack.

The same day another explosion occurred near a vehicle of security forces on Mall Road in Balochistan's Chaman, which killed one man and injured several. The attack was condemned by leaders of all political parties.

Prime Minister Imran Khan also condemned the attack and said that he has asked for  an immediate inquiry and increased security for the people.
