Tunisia gets offers in soft wheat, durum, barley tender

HAMBURG: The lowest offer in the international tender from Tunisia's state grains agency on Wednesday to purchase 92,000 tonnes of soft milling wheat was $234.63 a tonne c&f for optional-origin supplies, European traders said.
No purchase has yet been made and results are expected later on Wednesday, they said.
The offer was made for 25,000 tonnes by trading house Cofco, they said.
This was followed by soft wheat offers for other shipment positions in the tender at $237.75, $235.39 and $235.89 a tonne c&f.
Lowest offers in the tender for 42,000 tonnes of durum wheat were $279.49 and $281.82 a tonne c&f for different shipment positions.
Lowest offers in the tender for 75,000 tonnes of animal feed barley were $198.90, $204.44 and $208.88 a tonne c&f also for different shipment positions.
The Tunisian agency does not always purchase the lowest offer if other conditions connected with the offer are seen as unattractive.
The durum was sought in one 25,000 tonne consignment and one of 17,000 tonnes, the soft wheat was sought in three 25,000 tonne consignments plus one of 17,000 tonnes and the barley in three 25,000 tonne consignments.
The durum was sought for shipment between April 15 and May 15, the soft wheat between April 15 and May 25 and the barley between Aug. 15 and Nov. 5. All shipment periods depend on origin supplied.
European wheat futures in Paris were around nine-month lows earlier this week on concerns about sluggish EU exports.
