The Karachi Port handled 151,030 tonnes of cargo comprising 102,971 tonnes of import cargo and 48,059 tonnes of export cargo including 7,411 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargos of 102,971 tonnes comprised of 48,773 tonnes of containerised cargo; 45 tonnes of bulk cargo; 7,624 tonnes of canola and 46,529 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 48,059 tonnes comprised of 48,059 tonnes of containerised cargo and 419 tonnes of bulk cargo. As many as 7,411 containers comprising of 3,103 containers import and 4,308 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,383 of 20's and 766 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 94 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,456 of 20's and 420 40's loaded containers while 578 20's and 708 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were four ships namely Express Athens, Navios Unite, MT Lahore and Minoan Grace carrying containers, oil tanker and urea respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were four vessels viz. MOL Gateway, Maritina, Agios Spyridonas and Pacific Award carrying containers, oil tanker, canola and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 169,640 tonnes comprising 143,306 tonnes of import cargo and 26,334 tonnes of export cargo including 3,093 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 143,306 tonnes includes 38,844 tonnes of diesel oil; 20,000 tonnes of palm oil; 35,876 tonnes of coal; 2,353 tonnes of project cargo; 13,800 tonnes of chemical and 32,433 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 26,334 tonnes includes 26,334 tonnes of containerised cargo.
A total number of 3,093 containers comprising 1,707 containers import and 1,386 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday. There were seven ships sailed out to sea on Friday afternoon. A total number of ten vessels were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, soyabean seeds, steel coil, project cargo, diesel oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as ten ships namely CV Navios Unite, MV Droft Dooger, MV Abn Ruby, MV Sakizaya Diamond, MV Puppis Ocean, MV Penanag, MT Al-Rikayat, MT Mega-1, MT Gulf Baynunah and MT Songa Opal carrying containers, condensate, bitumen, soyabean seeds, chemical, LNG and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five vessels viz. CV Navios Unite, MV Penanag, MT Al-Rikayat, MT Mega-1 and MT Songa Opal carrying containers, chemical, LNG and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, Engro Elengy Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Friday. There are two ships namely CV Diyala and CV Safmarine Ngami carrying containers due to arrive on Saturday.
