Pakistan cricket former captain and current chief selector Inzamam ul Haq disappointed after the team’s 2-1 Test series lost against the New Zealand has said that changes will occur if there is no improvement in the performance.

“Everyone is responsible for the outcome, and where a person is not taking responsibility I can say that changes can be made,” said the former captain while talking to media on Saturday.

Inzamam also came into the defense of the under fire captain Sarfraz Ahmed, saying that the the skipper was the same when we won against other sides. "This was the same captain when we won the Test series against Australia and T20Is as well," said Inzamam.

"I would not say it’s the captain's fault but it has happened three times in this series that our batting did not click at the right time. The team could not make 170 runs in the first Test and in the last match, we couldn't play 70 overs of the day, then I won't say that it is the captain's fault.”

The chief selector emphasized the entire team to improve.. "The regular batsmen and the tail-enders will have to take responsibility on themselves, even the tail-enders need to take responsibility."

Talking about the upcoming away series against South Africa, Inzamam said that South Africa being a good team would be a challenge for Pakistan. "South Africa's team is good and conditions there will not be tough but different. The team will need to work hard, especially if we look at our performance in the last Test series,” he said.
