Australia have kept their dream alive as Mile Jedinak scorers from the penalty spot to rescue Socceroos against Denmark at the FIFA World Cup 2018.

The Socceroos, who lost their opener against France, were electric throughout the game as they managed to secure a point in the crucial Group C clash.

Mile Jedinak, who scored against France, yet again scored from the penalty spot in the 37th minute to level the game 1-1. The spot-kick was awarded after Denmark's Yussuf Poulsen was adjudged to have handled Mathew Leckie's cross in the penalty area.

Christian Eriksen scored the opening goal of the game for Denmark.

Australia were dominating throughout the game they have a better ball passion (55 percent) as compared to Denmark (45 percent). They also have taken 12 shots on Danish goal and conceded just nine. They also won five corners in the game but failed to take advantage.

Despite their valiant efforts in the game, Australia still at the third spot at the points table in the group C, which is topped by Denmark. France are at the second spot after their win against Australia.

This was the fourth time that Denmark and Australia have met each other, but the first time they have drawn (two wins for Denmark, one for Australia).

Australia also failed to win any of their last five World Cup matches (drew one, lost four), their joint-longest winless run in the competition and they have also been unable to keep a clean sheet in each of their past 12 World Cup games, the longest current run in the competition alongside Saudi Arabia.
