Senegal have won their first World Cup match since 2002 as two defensive errors by Poland gifted three points to the Africans in Group H.

An own goal by Thiago Cionek opened the scoring when the centre back deflected an Idrissa Gana Gueye shot into the net.

Mbaye Niang then picked up on a terrible back pass by Grzegorz Krychowiak to round Wojciech Szczesny and tap home.

Krychowiak scored the only goal for the Poles when he headed home an 86th-minute free-kick, but it was not enough as Senegal held on for a famous win.
