Ukraine's steel output in June seen at 1.8mn tonnes

KIEV: Ukraine is expected to keep its steel production at 1.8 million tonnes in June, the same volume targeted for May, local steel makers' union Ukrmetallurgprom said on Monday.

Ukraine's steel production fell by 12 percent last year to 21.3 million tonnes.

Ukrmetallurgprom said steelmakers are expected to produce 1.8 million tonnes of pig iron and 1.6 million tonnes of rolled steel in June.

In April, Ukraine produced 1.72 million tonnes of steel, 1.65 million tonnes of pig iron and 1.51 million tonnes of rolled steel.
