Former international footballer of Pakistan and former Secretary General of Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Ghulam Abbas Baloch died here after protracted illness on Friday. He was in his late seventies. Ghulam Abbas Baloch scored the first goal for Pakistan in Olympic qualification against Iran back in 1963.
He was awarded honorary AFC Gold Medal by PFF on behalf of Asian Football Confederation for his contributions to the game as a player and administrator.
Former Pakistan captain and country's legendary footballer Ali Nawaz Baloch lauded the contribution and services of Ghulam Abbas.
He expressed his heartfelt condolences on the death of Abbas Baloch. Ghulam Abbas was ill for a decade after suffering three strokes.
After retirement from football, Ghulam Abbas remained active as a referee, administrator and served at district, provincial level and remained in the national selection committee.
Head of NBP Sports department Iqbal Qasim expressed his condolences on behalf of his football team and other officials.
Former KCCA President and Secretary Syed Sirjul Islam Bukhari, Sindh Tennis Association Vice President Khalid Rehmani also condoled the death of Abbas Baloch.
