Algeria buys 390,000 T of milling wheat in tender

PARIS: Algeria's state grains agency OAIC bought 390,000 tonnes of milling wheat in a tender that closed on Tuesday, European traders said on Thursday.

OAIC paid around $229 a tonne, cost and freight (c&f) included and there were four sellers, traders said.

Initial reports on Wednesday had pointed to a sale of 330,000 tonnes by three sellers.

The origin of the wheat is optional but traders said most was likely to come from France.

Shipment is due in June, making the tender potentially the last one for the current 2017/2018 season

OAIC does not publish details of its grain import tenders and results reported by traders are estimates.
