Abbas Sharif, youngest brother of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, died here on Friday. He was 58. According to sources in the PML-N, Abbas Sharif was electrocuted and was brought to the Sharif Medical Complex for treatment. However, he could not survive. Abbas Sharif was elected as PML-N lawmaker from Shahdara in 1993 from NA-118.
He leaves behind a wife, two daughters and two sons. On receiving sad news about sudden death of Abbas Sharif, the PML-N leaders, workers and senior government officials thronged Raiwind residence to condole with the Sharif brothers. The Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf also telephoned Mian Nawaz Sharif and conveyed his sympathies to him over sudden demise of Abbas Sharif. Elaborate security arrangements have been adopted by the police for funeral and other rituals of Abbas Sharif.
