Govt cuts petrol price by Rs7.06, diesel by Rs3.71 per litre

  • New prices are effective for November 5, 2026
Published Updated

The government has cut the price of petrol by Rs7.06 per litre to Rs362.00, and high-speed diesel by Rs3.71 per litre to Rs387.81, effective November 5, 2026.

The revised ex-depot prices were announced in a press release issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Wednesday.

It said the revision was made under the petroleum products pricing mechanism approved by the federal government.

Petrol was previously priced at Rs369.06 per litre and high-speed diesel at Rs391.52 per litre.

On Tuesday, the government reduced the price of petrol by Rs5.45 to Rs369.06 per litre, and diesel by Rs3.68 to Rs391.52 per litre.

Globally, oil prices fell on Wednesday in a volatile session as investors awaited Washington’s next move in the US-Israeli war on Iran, after Democrats captured control of Congress from President Donald Trump’s Republicans in the midterm elections.

Brent futures fell $1.75, or 0.7%, to $101.85 a barrel at 1034 GMT, falling $2 earlier in the session. US West Texas Intermediate crude futures fell $1.18, or 1.2%, to $94.91. Both had risen $1 earlier.

In the previous session, Brent settled at its lowest level in nearly four weeks as traders weighed talks to end the wars in Ukraine and Iran.
