HAMBURG: Tunisia’s state grains agency has issued an international tender to purchase about 100,000 metric tons of soft milling wheat and around 100,000 tons of animal feed barley, European traders said on Tuesday.

The origin was optional. The deadline for submission of price offers in the tender is Wednesday, October 28. The wheat is sought in four 25,000-ton consignments for shipment between December 1, 2026, and January 10, 2027, depending on the origin the seller decides to supply.

The barley is also sought in four 25,000-ton consignments for shipment between November 20, 2026, and December 30, 2026, also depending on the origin supplied. Traders said the agency repeated previous warnings that its purchases are optional origins. For sellers of Black Sea grains, the supplier may not invoke force majeure under any circumstances because of fighting linked to the war between Russian and Ukraine and must source grains from other alternative origins if Black Sea supplies are unavailable.
